1958 BSA C15, which is fitted with a C15t Trials engine (1961).
Chrome mudguards and tank.
Frame has been blasted and powdercoated.
New wiring loom.
Engine is the sought-after trials version with the correct close ratio trials gearbox, but with road final drive sprockets that make it better on-road.
Road Registered and ready to ride away.
Has been officially dated by the BSA owners club, including the trials engine.
Starts and runs nicely though has the odd oil leak.
Still has contact breaker points ignition – nice and original.
It had been unused for a number of years after being refurbished and partially reassembled, I’ve finished it off and got it registered. I’ve had my fun with it now and sadly I need something a bit more modern and practical.
The trials engine, being pre-65, is worth quite a lot in its own right, especially one with a smooth gearbox and strong clutch.
It does have some faults though:
Wheel rims are pitted – could do with painting or rechroming
Speedo drive has failed and needs to be replaced. I’m using a separate digital Speedo at the moment.
