Live in nanny / au pair needed

£200.00

 (Fixed)

Description

Type : Jobs
Condition : Part time
Warranty : No
Location : London, UK

To start anytime this summer, we are seeking a live in part time nanny / au pair for 30 hours per week term time, plus overtime in school holidays (around 45 hours per week), offering paid holiday, many 3 day weekends, food and accommodation in a double bedroom with tv and internet. No house cleaning or ironing required : )

We are a family of four, with a 5-year old daughter and a 3-year old son. They are both charming and good fun, with the usual dose of tantrums thrown in!

We are looking for someone who is fun and energetic around the kids, a reasonable cook of healthy meals, with a high standard of English. This role will suit someone with experience in looking after young children, including disciplining, basic homework (learning to read & write) and who would describe themselves as safety-conscious, highly organized, with natural common sense.

We require first aid training, DBS registration and nanny insurance (we can arrange this for you).

Your duties will include:

Getting up / ready for school and bedtime routine

Walking younger child to nursery & back (5 mins)

Helping with homework

Changing and bathing as needed

Changing the children’s beds and washing kids bed sheets and towels once a week

Keeping bedrooms, kitchen and play areas clean and tidy

Arrange playdates and play in and out the house e.g. take them out to park,/playground and local activities

Plan activities to do at home, eg baking, messy play in the garden, arty projects, listening / singing to varied music etc.

Help with everyday household needs e.g. tidying up after kids meals, loading and unloading the dishwasher, emptying kitchen bin, placing weekly shopping order online and putting food shopping away when delivered.

Some simple housekeeping responsibilities (liaising with cleaners, deliveries, helping with our cats, keeping on top of maintenance issues etc)

We have a cleaner twice a week so you will not be expected to do general household cleaning. Nor do you need to launder or iron the kids clothes.

Hours: 7am – 8.30am then either 1pm or 3.30pm (depending on the day) – 6.30pm Monday to Friday, plus 1 weekend day in every 4, and 2 nights babysitting per week. You will also have 50% of Friday afternoons off which gives you almost a 3 day weekend every other week, great if you like to make short trips away!

During school holidays hours would increase although you would likely only be looking after the older child as the younger will be in full-time nursery.

Location/Accommodation

We live in a fantastic location on West Hill in Wandsworth, SW18. We are only a few minutes from the main shopping centre (with cinema, gym restaurants) and the park. East Putney tube and Wandsworth Town overground give easy access into central London.

Wandsworth is a very popular area for young families. There is a wealth of activities for you to explore with the children, giving you the opportunity to meet other child carers in the local area.

We have a lovely large house with garden. You will have your own double bedroom with TV (see pics), private fridge, microwave and kettle on the top floor. Also free WI-FI, work use of phone, and ipad. We are offering accommodation, food and £140 per week for 30 hours per week, £210 for 45 hours during holidays (this could be more if wanted).

If you would like to stand out as an ideal candidate please could you confirm which of the following statements in your reply:

My English is of a high standard

I have experience of caring for young children

I have contactable references

We look forward to hearing from you!
