The business was founded in the late 1960’s by the previous owner and has traded constantly since. It has moved premises once and has been in it’s present location for almost 40 years. The present owners took over the running of the shop in the late 1990’s. At the present time the shop is run by 2 family members, who both chose to work full time, but with the flexibility you would expect from a family run business.

The business is currently registered as a partnership.

The shop relinquished it’s livestock licence 7 years ago due to changes within the family and has sinced specialised in selling everything required to provide for a whole range of pets, from the standard cat and dog food available in many locations, to specialised feed and equipment for the keeping of fish and exotic pets. We have found with the increasing availability of pet feed and accessories in the grocery area specialisation was required to keep a share of the market. The shop stocks a variety of veterinary comparable feeds, and a wide range of products and feeds aimed at keepers of fish and exotic animals, which does provide a good niche market, not yet tapped by the grocery channel.
