Art tuition offered for any ability, from beginner through to professional. You will enjoy one-to-one tuition and see rapid progress being made with your art. Perfect for home school, amateurs, or experienced.
Tuition will be tailored to the needs and interests of you, the artist. If you are unsure what you would like to paint or draw, I will provide materials for you. Most people enjoy painting a loved one, a pet, a favourite view etc.
Lessons can also be taken outside, if the weather permits!
The focus is on building a skill set and working on tonal values, drawing, measuring, perspective, colour theory and composition to build three dimensional representation.
General skills include: pencil on paper, charcoal and chalk, watercolour and oil paints. I welcome, and encourage students to experiment with others too.
Lessons are always arranged for your convenience, either at the weekends, evenings, holidays or fortnightly. Lessons are a minimum of 2 hours per session. If you prefer, lessons can be arranged with friends/ partners etc.
(Block bookings are only £20 per hour)
Single lessons are £25 per hour with the first 15 minutes free for the first lesson, and then a 1 hr session will follow if you like the teaching style.
Background: I am an academically trained artist. I studied in ateliers in Belgium, Italy, France and USA, before returning to Edinburgh, and now Glasgow to teach. Over the past year I have been working on my own portfolio as well as exhibitions and commissions whilst passing on the knowledge I have accumulated.
