This post represents an exciting opportunity for someone with a Finance/ Business Planning background to join us to help shape our future commercial growth. The role sits within the exciting Business Development team, which is charged with finding innovative ways of raising additional funding to secure the delivery of our vision.

Last year, Dorothy House Hospice Care celebrated 40 years of delivering exceptional care to patients and their families. We were awarded ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC in 2017. In recent years we have expanded our services vastly, and the future development of our strategy will see us extend our care to more patients and their families.

The role will primarily be to provide the financial support to the Greenhouse team to enable development of financial appraisal and reporting tools which will support agile decision making and accurate reporting.

The successful individual would be an integral part of the Business Development team, leading the development of financial appraisal, performance management and reporting tools.

Duties:

Your effective delivery in the role would see you work closely with, and influence, Dorothy House senior management to help drive business performance, helping to ensure high quality financial decisions are made.

You will be confident in identifying and driving financial efficiency, ensuring that the business allocates resources effectively with rigorous pressure on costs and a commitment to a value-for-money approach

You will work closely with senior divisional management and the Finance Director to help develop the medium and long term business plans, including appropriate performance targets and metrics

You will be adept at building relationships with teams and individuals, to ensure performance is analysed, communicated, and that progress is tracked and reported.

You will possess excellent project management skills coupled with creative thinking. Proven ability to start and coordinate projects would be of value.

HOURS: 37 hours per week (negotiable)

Essential Requirements:

Experience of developing and implementing business

Proven ability to see the value in the information provided and to inspire others to make use of it.

High level Excel skills, and experience of varying financial reporting systems

A strong set of ‘soft’ skills, including Presentation/ Relationship building/ Negotiation/ Facilitation and conflict resolution

Ability to apply analytical skills beyond the traditional functions of finance and to bring them to bear on a broad range of commercial issues.

Ability to work with managers and team members to develop projects, challenge constructively and build positive relationships

Desirable Requirements:

Qualified accountant, either ACA, ACCA or CIMA

The ability to translate complex financial analysis into actionable plans by non-financial staff

Proven success working in a rapidly changing environment requiring the ability to propose, justifying, initiating and implementing change.
