An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team here as a Hotel Financial Controller. The Finance Controller will oversee the overall finance operations of the hotel and the day-to-day management of the hotel financial team. Some of the key responsibilities will include; ensure strong financial management within a self-accounting environment; provide focussed, innovative and value-adding management reporting and analysis and ensure that financial plans are consistent with the hotel’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
· Have ultimate responsibility for accurate accounting records and provide financial reports for the Hotel
· Comply with Corporate timetables and policies.
· Ensure the Balance Sheets are a fair reflection of all the assets and liabilities of the Hotels.
· Prepare the Balance Sheets, ensuring reconciliations are performed for all accounts and that all balances are explained.
· Manage the Accounts Payable, Income audit, Capital and Payroll processes at the property
· Produce daily bank reconciliations and ensure all items are cleared on a timely basis
· Provide focussed, innovative and value-adding Management Reporting and Analysis
· Deliver high quality management information and performance measurement that is accurate and relevant.
· Ensure reporting that incorporates benchmarking, identification and measurement of key performance indicators and use of balanced scorecard.
· Deliver reporting packs and focused commentary on current and future performance
· Optimise and develop Systems to improve efficiency and information
· Support the implementation of any Financial Systems in the Hotels.
· Continually develop the usage of Financial Systems
· Support the General Manager in Hotel strategic planning, focussing on value opportunities.
· Manage the formulation, review and approval process for budgeting within the hotel for all profit and loss lines.
· Lead, develop and inspire a high-quality Finance Team to maximise efficiency in the Finance function.
Key Requirements
· Confident and Highly Competent Hotel Accountant
· Accountancy Qualification preferred
· Experience in self-accounting environment beneficial
· Strong Organisation and Planning skills and the ability to prioritise appropriately
· Excellent oral and written Communication skills
· Analytical approach and creativity in problem resolution
· Commercial acumen and industry knowledge
· Ability to drive change where necessary
· Strong IT skills (MS Office, Financial Systems)
· You must have a strong financial management background with previous experience managing a Finance Department within a hotel environment being essential.
