Experienced Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant with previous, recent experience working within a similar role in an accountancy practice is required by a well-established accountancy firm based in Luton, Bedfordshire.

SALARY: £21,000 – £25,000 per annum (depending on experience)

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Assistant Accountant that has previous, recent experience working in a similar role within an accountancy practice and is looking to progress their career.

DUTIES

As the Assistant Accountant you will be involved with the following:

Preparing statutory accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies

Assisting clients to maintain their records using online software

Presenting monthly reports for clients

Management accounts, VAT returns etc.

Personal and business tax compliance

Provision of general tax advice to clients

Liaising with clients and resolving queries

Regular contact with clients to promote and develop good relationships

Taking part in the firm’s business development activities

Liaising with HMRC

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

You must have extensive recent experience within an accountancy practice environment in a similar role

Comprehensive accounting and taxation knowledge

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Willingness to undertake further training

Knowledge of Xero, Sage50 and Quickbooks or other accounting software would be advantageous
