The Elephant & Castle is a community local pub with a prominent main road location. The pub is situated in the affluent village of West Moors and is operated on Marston’s Village menu with good food offers.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a strong, community operator who has a passion for live events and activities to drive footfall. The new operator should focus on increasing the wet sales, whilst maintaining the momentum of food sales would be ideal.

About the agreement:

A franchise is a business relationship where one party allows another to operate a proven business model in return for initial and ongoing fees. The franchisor (in this case, Marston’s) grants the franchisee permission to use their operating trading model, trademarks and brand. In return, the franchisee pays an initial fee and an ongoing business fee.

•Self-employed opportunity

•Five year, rent free agreement with an option to renew for a further five years

•Total Franchise Fee (POA) and working capital of between £20,000 to £25,000 is required

•Franchise partners receive 20% of turnover and 20% quarterly profit

•Induction training together with an extensive and on-going training and support package is provided with a dedicated Area Operations Manager to help you develop your business

•Fully tied to all Marston’s products however all wet and food stock is supplied and paid for by Marston’s

•Marston’s pay for the utility bills (excluding council tax), repairs and provide fixtures and fittings

Franchise partners are responsible for:

•Business fee – 1.25% of net turnover

•Employing all staff, and are responsible for staff costs and employments matters

•Council Tax on private residential accommodation and all insurance costs (excluding building insurance)

•Obtaining proof of independent professional advice from a qualified accountant and a qualified solicitor at their own cost before entering into a full agreement

•Obtaining a Personal License
