The Finance Systems Developer Role
This role sits in the Finance MI team, supporting the development of Finance reporting, TM1, SQL reporting packages and other Finance systems within Finance and the SID Datahub Development team.
The role has responsibility for all aspects of analysing and specifying business requirements, developing new features and defect resolution across finance systems. This includes change within the SID MI solution, business reporting, Dream, TM1 development and the MI Change Programme, both in development and in production / live.
Key Responsibilities of the Finance Systems Developer
– Deliver TM1 changes in line with best practices and within project deadlines
– Development covering both data extracted out of Datahub (PL/SQL) and data in to TM1
– Ensuring the appropriate specification, development, testing and acceptance processes are followed
– Work directly with SID QA testers to ensure high quality of delivery
– Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement consistent with the cultural context of the organisation
– Seek opportunities to contribute original ideas to the benefit of the team and organisation
– Participate fully in the team’s agile development process, contributing to daily scrum meetings, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives
– Perform any other duties consistent with the skill-set of the individual as required by the organisation from time to time
Experience and skills required of our Finance Systems Developer
– Strong business analysis skills
– Experience of identifying and specifying technical business development requirements
– Understanding PL/SQL technologies
– Experience of MI reporting and forecasting
– Demonstrable technical & problem-solving background
– Experience of system and data testing
– Excellent communication skills
– Good educational background
– Educated to degree level in a technical subject would be an advantage
– Experience of a scrum-based agile development methodology would be an advantage
– Excellent product and user system knowledge (PC/Mainframe/Internet)
– Ability to prioritise tasks and recognise business and IT development requirements
