We are looking for an experienced and skilled Gardener to work full-time within a 60-acre family owned private estate in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.
You will be contracted to work 40 hours per week between Monday and Friday, occasional weekends may be required with time off in lieu granted.
The salary is negotiable depending on skills, qualifications and experience.
You will work alongside another Gardener to ensure the grounds are maintained to a consistently high standard all year round. The grounds amount to 60 acres and consist of areas that include shrubs, roses, ericaceous plants, kitchen garden with greenhouse, alongside hedging, topiary, lawns and ponds. They require someone who is self-motivated and passionate to ensure the upkeep of the grounds with minimal day-to-day direction from the family.
The property is the weekend residence of the family so you will in general work unsupervised but still be required to liaise with the Principals as necessary.
You must have extensive experience working within a large garden/estate and have comprehensive horticultural knowledge. You should also be familiar with the safe use and general maintenance of garden equipment including ride on mowers. You should also be willing to be involved in general handyman/exterior maintenance duties. Formal horticultural qualifications are desirable.
You must be dog friendly.
