Join us – Volunteers sought for outdoor, collaborative, arts event

SouthWestFest would love the help of friendly creative people to join in with the creation of a giant people paper chain. We will be asking members of the public to paint and decorate their own paper person to be part of this giant piece. Then we will be making an installation at Tate Britain of their artwork.

The event runs over 3 days, in 2 venues. The Festival Day at SouthWestFest, in Pimlico, is very buzzy and fun, where there will be lots of people who’d like to join in. Then there are 2 days at the Tate Britain with more painting and making with the public. Here, there will also be lots do looking after and installing the artwork.

At the festival events we will:

Talk to lots of people, and create a fun and relaxed environment, to help participants be as creative as possible

Encourage and help people to get creative and stuck in no matter what skill level

Make a huge colourful and unique people paper chain

Show off the installation and make sure people have the chance to explore all the pieces made by everyone safely
