More than just a business programme, the AofA Business Academy will improve your confidence, clarify your goals and help you to achieve success. This is a 6-month programme that meets once a month at the Charing Cross Library, Central London. Create, Elevate, Escalate your Business!
This tried and tested programme will take you through the basics of running a business starting with building your resilience and your confidence. From there we’ll be taking you step-by-step through the basics of what you need to do to ensure the best chance of success, from strategy to branding, marketing to business planning.
You’ll be working alongside others with whom you can swap skills, network and sell your product or service. Our aim is to make sure that by the end of the programme you have a revenue-generating business able to provide you with the lifestyle you are seeking.
Why only for over 50s?
Because people over 50 have different requirements and different life experience than those who are 25. You’ve most likely had a job for over 20 years and you have skills and experience and that matters.
Along the way, you’ve most likely had some knock backs too and you may be coming to the course as a result of not being able to find another job. We’re here to support you, to get you back on your feet and into the world of self-employment.
I’m the course trainer and along with my colleague we’ve had a number of successful businesses and each been self-employed for over 20 years. We’ve had our share of failures too and, at 57 and 61 years respectively, we’ve been around the block a few times and know how you may be feeling.
As we’re a social enterprise (not-for-profit) we’ve priced the course at what you believe the course is worth and what you can afford.
In return, we expect you to attend the lesson held monthly (for 6 months) and the webinar held every two weeks.
There’s also a lesson book to purchase for £15 to accompany the course.
