POSITION: HEAD MAINTENANCE GARDENER
Salary: £28,000 – 32,000 per annum depending on experience
Location: Hackney, LONDON
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07.30 – 17.00 with 1 hour off during the day.
Contract: Permanent
Holiday: 20 days paid holiday per annum plus national holidays
Company: Kingsland Gardens is a professional gardening business based in the vibrant borough of Hackney. We prioritise working locally specialising in expert maintenance and high quality landscaping for both commercial and residential markets.
Role: We have a great opening within the team for a Head Maintenance Gardener. The role offers a unique opportunity to take a lead in managing over 100 gardens
that form part of the 200 year old De Beauvoir Town estate. This is a hands-on role for an experienced gardener to deliver a complete seasonal maintenance service with the support of 1-2 assistants. It requires someone who can work within a team whilst showing initiative; they will report directly to the Operations Manager. Good people skills and a full driving license
are both essential. The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated with good horticultural knowledge and be passionate about gardening.
Responsibilities:
● Managing the maintenance team ensuring that all works are carried out safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
● Oversee and perform all aspects of routine and seasonal garden maintenance including mowing, hedge cutting, pruning at the correct time, lawn care and overall garden development.
● Highlight and communicate any problems or developments to Operations Manager.
● Daily completion of job sheets highlighting future requirements.
● Ensure that the van is kept clean and tidy with a full set of tools. Reporting any problems immediately.
● Assist in day-to-day maintenance of workshop and yard.
● Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.

● Good horticultural knowledge.

● To be diplomatic and calm with clients.
