Large private estate in Guildford is seeking a proactive Groundsperson/ Handyman to join their team. Reporting to the Estate Manager you will be responsible for the upkeep of the grounds and facilities.
Main duties
* To assist in day to day maintenance of the gardens and grounds.
* To assist with maintenance and repair of tools, equipment and machinery necessary for grounds work.
* To carry out constructional work to include fencing, painting and hard-standing areas.
* To maintain the gardens as instructed.
* To carry out other general tasks as may reasonably be requested and directed through the Owners.
Person Specification
* A proactive approach to grounds maintenence.
* Ability to complete tasks to satisfactory conclusions
* A positive attitude, driven, hard-working person with an exceptional attention to detail.
* Ability to work without close supervision and maintain a high quality of work.
* Able to recognise potential hazardous situations/materials and respond accordingly.
* Good verbal communication skills
* Role requires manual lifting and general manual work
* Previous grounds maintenance experience in a similar position would be advantageous but not essential.
* Current valid full driving licence
