We are recruiting for a qualified (SVQ3 or equivalent) Nursery Practitioner to fill a position in a large children’s nursery based in Anniesland, Glasgow. We are looking for an individual to work with children aged 6 weeks – 5 years with an immediate start. You must be reliable and have recent experience of working in a nursery setting. Key tasks/requirements include to: foster good relationships with parents and children; provide support and commitment to the management team in the day to day running of the nursery; maintain high levels of professionalism and integrity with a positive attitude to social and cultural diversity; understand Child at the Centre 2, Curriculum for Excellence and Pre Birth to Three Curriculum, Building the Ambition, Setting the Table, GIRFEC and other current local and national guidance, ensuring that childcare and education programmes are consistent with their principles; contribute to the planning of and participate in the daily/weekly/monthly programme of activities and learning; prepare playrooms for activities ensuring play equipment is safe, clean and age appropriate; maintain documentation for playrooms; serve meals and snacks to children. The successful candidate will be required to apply for a PVG certificate and will therefore be required to disclose any previous convictions. References will be requested. We offer a starting rate of pay of £7.20 per hour (subject to NMW regulations) for 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on an 8 hour flexi-time shift pattern between 07:30 – 18.00.
