LCV is London’s leading alternative choir. We have worked with over 100 artists and bands, including 16 Grammy winners/nominees.

We are recruiting male singers to join our Autumn season, working towards a large concert at Queen Elizabeth Hall (Southbank Centre) on 3rd Nov (1000 capacity venue). Rehearsals start 12th September (Wednesday choir 6:45-9:15pm) and 13th September (Thursday choir 6:30-8:30pm) – rehearsing at St Gabriel’s Hall in Pimlico (SW1V 3AA).

To audition please send a summary of your musical experience or a musical CV, along with a photograph of your face to auditionsATlcvchoirDOTcoDOTuk.

Our Wednesday evening choir is for professional-standard singers, with considerable experience of ensemble singing and the ability to read music very well (sight-singing preferred). If you are not a professional-standard singer you may be asked to start in our Thursday choir to begin with.

Our Thursday evening choir is for aspiring-professional-standard singers and excellent amateur singers, including those who are less able to sight-sing. Note though, it is still an excellent choir with high standards and it is not suitable for beginners.

FURTHER INFO ABOUT LCV

We regularly host our own largescale shows (around 5 per year), often involving collaborations with other artists and art forms – there are weekly rehearsals for these shows and singers must commit to regular attendance.

Many LCV singers also undertake smaller group projects and bookings, many of which are paid (over 60 bookings last Christmas alone).

The choir covers a range of styles, leaning towards contemporary leftfield and popular music. LCV singers are from a diverse range of backgrounds and many specialise in particular genres from classical to gospel to pop. As well as excellent “amateur” singers we have a thriving community of professional singers/artists in our membership and we showcase these regularly at our smaller shows.

Recent highlights for LCV include appearing in a BBC TV Special with U2 Live From Abbey Road Studios; appearing with Tom Chaplin (Keane) on The Graham Norton Show, The One Show and Sky One’s Xmas Live From Royal Albert Hall; performing at the BBC Proms with The Heritage Orchestra; featuring on Elbow’s UK No. 1 album Little Fictions; singing for a national TV ad campaign for Lloyds Bank; and recording with Imogen Heap for the Olivier Award Winning show Harry Potter & The Cursed Child.

Projects currently on the go include our own set on Bestival’s Main Stage and Big Top, plus the festival spectacle; Wilderness festival Disney set with orchestra; performing with Roo Panes at Shepherds Bush Empire; performing at Reading Festival with Deaf Havana; performing with the English National Ballet.

LCV has worked with many award-winning artists – names include U2, Sam Smith, Florence & The Machine, Andrea Bocelli, James Bay, Marcus Mumford, Joss Stone, Alt-J, Elbow, Basement Jaxx, Imogen Heap, Laura Mvula, Jarvis Cocker, John Grant, Susanne Sundfor and many more! We have performed at most major venues in London including the O2 Arena, Royal Albert Hall, Barbican, Royal Festival Hall, Hammersmith Appollo, Brixton Academy, The Roundhouse, Union Chapel and others. Our corporate clients include Burberry, Selfridges, Liberty, Tiffany & Co, Pandora, Michael Kors, Land Rover, Topshop, Facebook and many other large brands.
