Starting in September Au Pair wanted for two school children in Wandsworth, SW London

Hello, we’re looking for an au pair to live with us in our family home in Wandsworth and help us with our two children. A boy, Chester, aged 10 and a girl, Freya, aged 8. We’d like someone to begin on 1 September and stay until the end of July 2019.

We have successfully had a number of au pairs over the years. We have a good routine going and I can be very clear about your duties.

Ideally you will be able to meet us in person. If that’s not possible Skype is an option. In that case we will require additional references for you.

What We Will Ask of You

The main role here is 25 hours and two babysits per week. To help with our two children and help keep the house.

We have found a weekly routine works well. The core hours of duty are Monday – Friday:

8:30 – 9:00 am tidy the kitchen

3:45 – 7/8:00 pm collect kids from school or clubs, supervise homework, prepare a family meal and supervise bedtime

There is light housework; washing up, a little ironing, hoovering, keeping the kitchen and general areas clean and tidy.

We may also ask you to babysit on upto two evenings a week, one of those may be a weekend evening.

Additional Duties

On the odd occasion we need a little extra help in the mornings. Sometimes we need an extra evening’s babysitting. In the school holidays we will ask you to spend more time with the kids, take them to local playgrounds etc. You will be paid for the extra hours.

The Qualities We Appreciate

We find good English is essential as well as self-confidence. If you are energetic, friendly, reliable and with a professional approach you’ll fit in well here. Be interested and willing to learn new things and be sensitive to how we do things. A non-smoker, comfortable with our cat, you don’t need to drive. We’d like you to respect our healthy diet; plenty of vegetables, fruit, low sugar, fish and some meat.

What We Can Offer You

We can offer you full bed and board in a beautiful room in a great location for exploring London. An allowance of £90 per week is paid for 25 hours duty and up to 2 babysits per week. A week’s holiday pay for every three months worked. Generous holiday leave at Christmas and about a week’s holiday leave at Easter. We will pay a higher weekly rate if you are really skilled in areas that we’d find helpful, eg; lots of relevant experience and good rapport skills, really good skills with the kids, if you are a great cook or would like to take on optional extra housework.

Your room is spacious, light, airy and very private. It has an en suite shower room and private balcony. There is double bed, a large wardrobe, chest of drawers and a desk. You’ll have a Smart TV and wireless connection. We have a bicycle you can use.

About Us, Our Home and Wandsworth

We have a four bedroom home in Wandsworth, a busy and vibrant part of South West London. There are lots of shops and cafes on the doorstep, plenty of other au pairs to get to know and brilliant train and bus links for all over London. It’s also really easy to get out of London by train from here to explore the countryside.

I’d describe us as a hard working and content people. We are lucky to have a beautiful home and we enjoy our weekends here relaxing with the kids, cooking, seeing friends and enjoying our garden. We are careful with our health, and caring for the environment matters to us too. We both work from home; my husband runs an events company within the environmental sector, he loves his garden and walks everywhere! I teach yoga, read a lot of books, like to experiment with cooking and sometimes sew. I enjoy getting around London by bike. Chester is in his final year of primary school, he likes to read, build lego and tell jokes. Freya loves arts and crafts and animals.

We enjoy being at home and work hard. This means that we generally need occasional babysits at weekends and usually once in the week. It’s quite common for our au pairs to have the entire weekend to themselves.

We have really enjoyed our time with our previous au pairs, introducing them to London, watching them enjoy themselves and grow in confidence. We have strong references from our previous au pairs and we can send photos of us and the house.
