If that’s not enough, I can quickly breakdown what makes me great at my job. I was a shy young chap as a teenager and into my 20s but found that putting a camera in my hand and a job to do, I was in my element – which led to meeting lots of amazing people and has rounded me into a very relaxed, chatty and friendly guy. I found photography during a Visual Design module at University – the difference between a holiday snap and a well thought out and composed photograph fascinated me. Mathematics in nature and human psychology are both important aspects to photography – understanding why our brains interpret images means I try to take photos that tell a story and are more than just a forgettable snapshot.
My history with a camera is that I’m self-taught via books, experimenting through trial and error and taking 100s of photos of the same flower over and over again. I’m constantly inspired by the work of others, Bristol is a great creative place to live and I’m always excited to find new people to collaborate and work with.
My editing style is uncomplicated and honest. I very rarely do much aside from colour and contrast adjustments, sometimes removing anything that I think is particularly jarring.
Weddings – £950.00
All day coverage (up to 12 hours), including being present for Bride (& groom location allows it) preparation. The truth is that photos taken during the first few hours while hair is being done aren’t always about getting beautiful shots. I understand that having someone with a camera in your presence isn’t an everyday activity so the earlier I’m there, the better. I pour prosecco like a champ, can disappear like Batman if required (dresses need to go on at some point) – it’s also a great time to get photos of the little details like flowers, jewellery and dress designs that you may have spent a few sleepless nights deciding over.
During the day, I’m around for whatever you need a photographer to do. I can stand back, photograph the day as it happens without any interruption to you. If you have some specific photos in mind or if spontaneous group shots are your sort of thing, I can be on hand to help. Organising the big group shot, smaller family/friends formal photos, creating a confetti aisle (so everyone gets a chance to throw some and it makes for a good image) are things you can trust me to plan and organise.
I also bring mobile lighting with me, in case a pop-up studio is required. Rain hasn’t been much of an issue but if so, it’s good to fall back on. Most clients have loved the option to set up a dedicated area to set up a mini studio, grab friends, squeeze people in for a nicely lit shot around the same time as the dance floor gets going.
